The deadly disaster

As the beastly balloon burst through the damp clouds, Jack reminisced about getting that excellent scholarship. All the strenuous work put in finally paid off. From the miniature balloon, he gaped down at the town he knew as home. People were ants, homes were tiny pieces of land and the vivid colours of the blues, greens and reds mixed to create a particoloured scenery. The voluminous clouds clashed violently as the balloon continued its endless journey. The fire provided some heat, yet the frigid temperatures astounded Jack. He peered up into the sky, as the sizzling sun glared down back at him. The sky was as blue as ever reflecting the colour, and lighting up the earth. Jack contorted his lips into a smile, as his cheeks dimpled. Nothing could go wrong.

The balloon continued going up into the atmosphere. The clouds were cotton candy, freshly made and curled up into puffy whiffs. His stomach felt that they had butterflies in it as the balloon started rapidly jerking up and down. He thought it was as safe as his home, but eventually, the balloon ceased the action. He grabbed onto the brown netting which was the only thing which could aid him in keeping still. His feet felt frigid for a while as he thought how far he had travelled. But suddenly, a loud crash was heard and a chink appeared in the balloon. It started to shrink, and the tattered balloon decreased in height alarmingly. It was acting like a ragged doll.

The whistling wind powered the hot air balloon to its west. There was nothing Jack could do but watch in despair as his dream adventure had turned into a horrific nightmare.
