How to be mindful

Mindfulness

As the years go on, life is becoming more hustle and bustle style. Lots of people are in a rush and going everywhere. This is a world where succeeding is hard, however, with one thing you can succeed; Mindfulness. Mindfulness is the act of paying attention to what is happening around you, every single moment. Mindfulness also means you observe what you are thinking, feeling, sensations of touch, taste, smell, and sound. Mindfulness also means that you are in the moment and know what is happening around you. So how can mindfulness help you?

Mindfulness can help you in various ways. One of the biggest ways mindfulness can help you is by reducing your stress. Mindfulness is a big advocate of deep breathing, meditating, and doing exercises that keep your mind calm. When you meditate, you forget about all the bad things that are happening around you and focus on how to live in the present moment. This reduces stress and helps you live a better life. Another way mindfulness can help you is by having improved relationships. Having improved relationships can help you in your life as it can make you connect with your family, wife, and colleagues in a way that could stop arguments and make life better. These are just some of the various ways mindfulness can help you. Now, I will give you four tips on how to practice mindfulness.

  1. Mindful breathing

Being mindful while breathing is one of the most underrated points of mindfulness. When you wake up one of the major tips to build mindfulness is to go outside and breathe. Find a nice and quiet space outside and start taking deep breaths in and out. Sit with your back up straight and not rigid. Try to focus and notice your breathing. Some things you could notice include the sensation after you breathe and how hot or cold it is. Try doing it for 5-10 minutes a day. After you make a habit of doing it, you will do it without thinking. By practicing mindful breathing, you have less stress and a greater sense of where you are.

  1. Incorporate Mindfulness into daily activities

Another way you could practice mindfulness is by including it in your daily activities. There are many examples of this. When you are eating your food, try to think of which spices or vegetables were included in the dish. By doing this, you are activating your sense of mindfulness by knowing what you are eating. Another way is when someone else is speaking, listening to what the person is speaking and also thinking about what the person means by saying those words. When you are doing this, you are in the moment listening to the other person and not wondering off into another world.

  1. Use Apps and resources

The last tip that I will be giving you is to use different apps and resources to help you in your journey to have lots of mindfulness. Some apps include Headspace, Calm, and Insight timer. These apps can give you reminders about when to be mindful and give you meditation exercises, breathing exercises, and tips on how to be mindful, just to name a few. These apps are especially good for beginners as they provide structured sessions of mindfulness.

These are just a couple of ways to be mindful. There are many more tips and exercises to do, but it is always good to remember that the more mindful you are, the better your life will be.
