Refugee book review

(I would like to shout out two other people, Hiroto Minami and Alan Chen who worked together with me to create this script and then record it.)

Three audacious children. Three cunning stories. Three contrasting decades. One reason to escape.

WAR.

From the creator of Ground Zero and  Alies, A historical novel book, and not a one-time, two-time, but a three-time New York Times bestseller. A three-time New York Times Best Seller with several domestic accolades, REFUGEE BY ALAN GRATZ.

Meet  Josef, who is a 12-year-old Jewish boy living in Germany in 1938, during the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party. His father has been captured by the Nazis, and now it’s time to escape. However, after their father has come back, he looks, different. How will Josef escape Germary safely, and make sure to find a place that is safe for him and his family?

Meet Isabel, who is an 11-year-old girl living in Havana, Cuba, in 1994, during Fidel Castro’s tenure. Isabel and her family need to escape from Cuba and the evil reign of Fidel Castro. They have barely any food, or water and are always in constant view from the government. However, the only way to leave Cuba is by the sea, filled with unknown creatures and treacherous waters, will they be able to survive the terrifying adventure ahead of them?

Finally, Mahmoud, who is the third main character, is a 13-year-old boy living in Aleppo, Syria, in 2015. Syria has been experiencing a civil war since the Arab Spring of 2011, and Aleppo is constantly being bombed. One day, a bomb destroys his home leaving him and his family no choice but to leave to seek a better life elsewhere.

This book is an excellent read since it makes people understand how hard it is for refugees to escape. It helps people get a sense of understanding. It also has lots of cliffhangers and is impossible for people to put down.

Escape seems impossible. For everyone.

Or is it?

And even if they escape, the challenges on their journey are going to be daunting.

Through moments of betrayal, love, and other extraordinarily tough situations.

So are they going to make it and live a happy life, or are they going to get caught and stay in a terrible area?

Find out, in Refugee.
